Tucville Primary crush Thomas Moore 6-0

Heavyweights Tucville Primary sent an early warning to the field, crushing Thomas Moore 6-0 when the fourth annual Petra Organization/Courts Pee-Wee U-11 primary schools football tourney kicked off yesterday.

Hosted at the Thirst Park ground, Kevon and Rayheem Marques led the way for the winners with respective hat tricks on either side of halftime. K. Marques opened the scoring with a finish to the right hand corner in the third minute after a pass from the centre of the field.

It would then become 2-0 in the sixth minute as he netted his double, stabbing his effort down the middle of the goal from within the area. Tucville would continue to add to their lead as R. Marques netted with a finish to the lower left corner in the 12th minute.

The score line would continue to balloon as R. Marques sealed his brace in the 22nd minute with a finish to the strike to the right hand corner from the left side of the box, after dribbling his marker.

  1. Marques would then net his hat trick, slotting his effort into the back of the net after collecting a pass from the left side of the field. The score line would then be completed in the 28th minute K. Marques grabbed his hat trick, lashing his attempt down the middle of the goal.

Stella Maris Primary elevated themselves to dark horses in the event as they defeated former champs Marian Academy 2-0.

Darron Nyles opened the scoring for the Woolford Avenue side in the 22nd minute, rifling his right footed effort into the lower left hand corner, after receiving a short pass from a left side corner.

He would then double their lead two minutes later with powerful right footed shot into the roof of the net, from just outside the penalty area.

Marian Academy would eventually pull one back in the 28th minute through a well-placed Alaistair Phyll left sided freekick into the top right hand corner.

In other results, St. Stephen’s defeated St. Gabriel’s by a 2-0 score line compliments of a Wesley Thompson double in the 28th and 30th minutes while St. Angela’s edged F.E. Pollard by a 1-0 margin through a Oziah Vieira strike in the 24th minute.

Also registering a win on the opening day was Smith Memorial who upset St. Margaret’s by a 3-1 score line. Gavin Allen, Tarel Elias and Kemyon John netted for the winners in the eighth, 29th and 30th minutes correspondingly.

On target for the losers was Josiah King in the 22nd minute. East La Penitence defeated Ketley Primary 1-0. Fabian Boters separated the two sides with a 13th minute strike. Defending champions St. Puis were held to a disappointing nil-all draw with J.E. Burnham Primary.

Enterprise Primary defeated Success Primary via walkover in the seventh slated matchup. West Ruimveldt won via walkover against Redeemer Primary in the second programmed fixture. Also earning a walkover victory were Green Acres who defeated Comenius Primary.

The 11th fixture of the day saw North Georgetown receiving a walkover victory against Winfer Garden. The action is slated to continue at the same venue with another 12 slated fixtures.
