Defending champs GYO record second win

Gandhi Youth Organisation (GYO) completed their second successive victory of the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA)/ Banks DIH Malta Supreme Under-13 tournament after defeating hosts, Malteenoes Sports Club (MSC) by 63 runs on Monday.

GYO, who are the defending champions, restricted the hosts to 167 all out in their allotment of 25 overs before responding with 230-2 in their 25 overs.

Alex Rogers, Elnathan Sukhnandan, Andre Massay and Movendra Persaud all captured two wickets each for the visitors as only petite Wayne Bollers (15) reached double figures for the hosts.

Replying to the small total, GYO ensured they achieved a comprehensive victory by losing just two wickets for the 50 runs scored. Extras top scored with 20 while Meshack Softleigh (06) scored the most with the bat.

Bollers and Kyle Solomon claimed a wicket each for MSC, who lost their second game in as many matches.

In total MSC scored 267 but due to 10 dismissals 100 runs were subtracted leaving them with 167. GYO on the other hand made 250 but with just two dismissals, 20 runs were deducted leaving a final total of 230.
