Pele look to maintain lead as GFA league continues

The Georgetown Football Association (GFA) first division league continues today at the Tucville Community ground with a doubleheader.

In the feature contest at 20:00hrs, league leaders Pele FC will lock horns with sixth positioned unit the Georgetown Football Club (GFC).

Defeating Northern Rangers 5-2 in their previous fixture, Pele will attempt to solidify their status at the top of the standings and will require another clinical showing from the duo of Marlon Nedd and Okeene Fraser when opening whistle sounds.

Suffering defeats in their previous two fixtures, the Bourda-based GFC unit will try to get back to winning ways and will need an improved collective showing from their young brigade led by the duo of Keiron Solomon and Orlando Gravesande, if they are to fashion the upset.

The opening matchup of the night will witness third placed side Sunburst Camptown tackling seventh positioned outfit Flamingo FC at 18:00hrs.

Brushing aside GFC 4-0 in their earlier matchup, the Campbellville-based unit will attempt to make up distance on top units and will look to the trio of Devon Forde, Reshawn Sandiford and Anthony Sancho to power them to another victory when physicality’s commence.

 

Held to a 1-1 draw in their previous matchup with the lawmen, the relegation threatened unit will be desperate to secure the vital win and will need the quartet of Shem Porter, Quincy Bourne, Leon Yaw and Trevon Thomas to pilot them on course.
