Fishermen Masters, Wolf Warriors win

There were wins for Fishermen Masters and Wolf Warriors in the male competition when the Guyana Floodlight Softball Cricket Association (GFSCA) Ramchand/ Rohan Auto Spares softball competition continued recently.

In a closely fought encounter, Fishermen Masters defeated Wellman by seven runs.

Batting first, Fishermen Masters made 141 all out with M. Mohanlall 57 the top scorer. Greig DeFranca bagged 3 for 15 and Tony Singh 2 for 21. Wellman, in reply, made 139 all out with Shawn Massiah top scoring with 24. S. Singh picked up 4 for 18 and R. Mohan 2 for 35.

In the other match played Wolf Warriors defeated Farm by six wickets.

Farm, batting first, scored 129 for 7 with Sheldon Perch 26 and Ryan Ready 21, the principal scorers. Wolf Warriors replied with 130 for 4 with H. Ramsundar 41 not out and Mark Harold 25 not out. A. Sookdeo was the pick of the bowlers with 3 for 16.

Meanwhile the GFSCA has released its fixtures for this weekend’s matches which will be played across venues in and out of Georgetown.

Pitch 3: 9:30am-Wellwoman vs Blue Divas. 11:00am-Karibee Strikers vs 4R Lioness. 1:00pm-Karibee Strikers vs Sleeping Warriors.

G.N.I.C. ground: 9:30am-Regal vs Speedboat. 12:30pm-Regal Masters Vs Parika Defenders.

Enterprise ground: Pitch 1: 9:30am-Young Guns vs Brickery Super Stars. 12:30pm-Enterprise Legends vs Slingers. Pitch 2: 9:30am-Countryside vs Warriors X1. 12:30pm-Industry Super Kings vs Fishermen Legends.

Saturday Night at DCC: Pitch 1: 6:30pm-Wolf Warriors vs Young Guns. Pitch 2: 6:30pm-Tiger Sport vs Shakir X1.
