The Georgetown Softball Cricket League (GSCL) will bowl off their President’s Cup Open and Over-40 Big Ball competition today at the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) and Ogle Community Centre grounds while the finals are set for tomorrow at the same venues.
The Over-40 category will see the more seasoned, senior teams playing at DCC while the Open teams will duke it out at Ogle with the finals set for the DCC ground on Sunday from 10am with a “winner take all” first place prize of $180,000 up for grabs.
Today, Regal Masters will battle Savage on pitch number one, while Fishermen XI will go up against Mike’s Wellman on pitch number two. Then at 1pm the second string of matches will be played with the respective losers playing on pitch one while the winners battle on pitch two, all at DCC.
Over at Ogle, Regal will engage in battle with Speedboat which will be followed up by a match between SPR Enterprise and Farm XI in the second contest, with the winners meeting in the finals the following day at DCC.
