Tucville giants Fruta Conquerors were eliminated from the Georgetown Football Association Banks Beer Cup, going down to Western Tigers 1-0 in their final group matchup on Saturday at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) ground.

Needing simply a draw to secure their berth in the next round following GFC’s 12-0 over Houston Stars, the Tucville side would concede an untimely goal as Darren Benjamin netted in the 29th minute.

With the loss, Fruta Conquerors finished the group stage with four points and a goal difference of +9 from three games while Western Tigers ended their group campaign on seven points and a +9 goal difference from their allotted three fixtures.

GFC on the other-hand, qualify for the next round ahead of Fruta Conquerors due to their superior goal scoring ratio of 12-10 after finishing their campaign also on four points and a goal difference of +9 from three matches. Houston Stars ended the tourney without a point.

Needing to win in their final fixture by large margin, the Bourda-based side destroyed Houston Stars by a 12-0 score line led by a six goal haul from international import Trayon Bobb in the third, 42nd, 44th, 53rd, 83rd and 90th minutes.

Assisting in the vital win with two goals each were Keiron Solomon in the 10th and 38th minutes and Terrence Lewis in the eighth and 58th minutes. Completing the lopsided win with solo strikes in the 36th and 37th minutes were Sherman Anthony and Delon Cadogan respectively.
