FAPC wins GPF T20 competition

A brisk 50 from Sherwin Mc Pherson steered the Felix Austin Police College (FAPC) to a five-wicket victory over “A” Division in the final of the Guyana Police Force (GPF) Inter-Division T20 competition played Sunday at Police Sports Club ground, Eve Leary.

Batting first, “A” Division scraped to 111 all out in 19.3 overs thanks to Essequibian Jason Heyliger who stroked 56 with seven fours while Kelvin Leitch made 18. The two added 64 runs for the fifth wicket. Bowling for the opposition, Rocky Hutson claimed 3-8 and Stephen Harris 3-18.

Mc Pherson and Jason Mc Almont (10) piled on 36 with the former blasting 10 fours in the top score of 69 while Eon Rodrigues chipped in with 14 to take their team over the line. Trevor Benn, Heyliger and Richard Leacock picked up one wicket each.

FCPA pocketed a trophy and $200,000 and A Division a trophy and $150,000. Tactical Service Unit received $100,000 for finishing third. Man-of-the-match Mc Pherson walked away with $25,000 and an additional $20,000 for the best batsman in the final while Hutson claimed $20,000 for being the best bowler in the final.
