Guyana’s quest for Pan Am Games medals commences Saturday

The contingents of badminton and swimming departed Guyana on Tuesday, joining some of their counterparts in Toronto, Canada where they will represent the nation at the 2015 Pan American Games which starts tomorrow.

At the July 10 to 26 Games, the Golden Arrowhead will be represented in five disciplines: athletics, badminton, rugby, squash and swimming.

Badminton, squash and rugby kicks off on Saturday at Markham and Downtown Toronto while swimming action starts on July 14 at Scarborough. Track and Field action begins on July 21 at North York.

Guyana’s entire delegation including overseas based athletes are:

Athletics: Adam Harris (100 and 200m), Winston George (200 and 400m) and Jenea McCammon (triple jump) with Aliann Pompey as Manager/Coach.

Badminton: Priyanna Ramdhani and Narayan Ramdhani with Gokarn Ramdhani as Manager/Coach.

Swimming: Onika George and Omar Adams with Paul Mahaica as Manager/Coach. Squash: Kristian Jeffrey, Sunil Seth and Jason-Ray Khalil with Ramon Chan-A-Sue as Manager/Coach.

Rugby: Richard Staglon (Captain), Dwayne Schroeder, Akeem Fraser, Claudius Butts, Patrick King, Ronald Mayers, Avery Corbin, Lancelot Adonis, Rickford Cummings, Ryan Gonsalves and Phibian Joseph.
