Ministers visit Canada diaspora

Minister of State Joseph Harmon and Tourism Minister Cathy Hughes recently led a small delegation to Canada, in order to update Guyanese in the Diaspora of the Government’s plans and objectives, GINA said.

Gov’t reneges on VAT cut promise

VAT will not be cut this year as had been promised by APNU+AFC, the biggest miss so far in the 100-day agenda that it had laid out, but Finance Minister Winston Jordan yesterday assured that the other monetary-related pledges will be kept.

The Proposed Flag for Region 4. It is proposed that since Region 4 is the main economic centre of Guyana, the colours of the flag should include red for the zeal and dynamic nature of the people and black for their strength and endurance. The symbol is the iconic Stabroek Clock.

Flags proposed for regions

Each of the country’s ten administrative regions is now considering its own flag and emblem as part of an initiative by the Ministry of Communities to encourage the regions to develop their own identities.
