Hague man to do community service after copping to drug possession

A Hague man will be doing community service for the next six months after admitting to drug possession.

Godfrey Alves was also fined $3,000.

Alves was charged with having four grammes of cannabis in his possession at Mahdia. He pleaded guilty to the charge when it was read to him on Tuesday at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court 1 by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry.

Alves was ordered to report to the Den Amstel Police Station every Saturday from February 28, to perform community service between the hours of 9 am and 3 pm.
