Police caution over extra bright white headlights

The police yesterday said that some motorists are using extra bright white headlights without dipping them in the face of oncoming traffic.

In a release yesterday, the Guyana Police Force Traffic Department said it is urging motorists driving such vehicles to extend the courtesy of dipping the lights in order to avoid a possible accident.

Meanwhile, the release said that the Police Force continues with its traffic enforcement. It said that up to March 16, 2015, there have been a total of twenty-one road fatalities compared to twenty- five for the corresponding period last year.

During the period March 09 to 14, 2015, it said that a number of cases have been made against motorists for breaching the traffic laws.

Twenty persons were charged for the soliciting of passengers (touting).
