The police say they are investigating a fatal accident that occurred at about 2345h. last night on the Zeeburg Public Road, WCD, and which resulted in the death of pedestrian Omadat Narine Singh, 38 years, of Zeelugt, EBE.
The police say that investigations have revealed that the driver of a motor car overtook another vehicle and struck down the pedestrian in the process.
Singh was pronounced dead on arrival at the GPHC.
The driver of the motor car fled the scene and the vehicle has been detained by the police.
