The Deepwater Cham-pion is drilling for oil under licence from the Government of Guyana in the Stabroek block, some 120 miles offshore Guyana within Guyana’s Exclusive Economic Zone.

GINA said that the President and party travelled by helicopter from the Ogle Aerodrome and were given a 360 degree view of the drillship from the helicopter.

After a short briefing aboard, the Party returned to Ogle.

The President was accompanied by Robert Persaud, Minister of Natural Resources and the Environment.

There was no information in the GINA report on the progress of the well drilling. Exxon started drilling around March 5th and is likely to be close to its drilling depth. Both the government and Exxon have been quiet on the progress of the drilling.
