Bandits break in, rob Sophia home

Bandits entered the home of a Sophia resident last night, and stole $300,000 in cash and items.

Deonand Geer of Sand Road, ‘D’ Field, Sophia, went home last night to a ransacked house. Geer was returning from a meeting at the National Aquatic Centre.

Geer said when he returned home his louvre windows were missing, and his belongings were scattered all over. Geer said from his observation the burglar/s exited through the backdoor.

Geer said he contacted Sparendaam Police Station and officers went and took statements, and told him they were going to conduct their investigations today.

Geer said he is living in fear because it is the second time his house was broken into. He was robbed last February.
