Miner remanded over ganja charge

A miner was yesterday refused bail after being charged with possession of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking.

Dillon Burrowes, 40, pleaded not guilty to the charge which stated on May 4, at Karamu Junction, Essequibo River, he had in his possession 1179 grammes of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking.

The resident of South Ruimveldt squatting area was remanded while presiding Magistrate Ann McLennan transferred the matter to the Mahdia Magistrate’s Court for July 13.
