His aunt, Narriman Hussain, said her nephew had offered to go and buy food for the family on Sunday evening while they were having a family gathering. She stated that after a while they called him to find out where he was and he said he was on his way home.

But two hours later, Hussain said, Khan had still not arrived they began to get worried. “We call him but we didn’t get on to his phone. So them boys went and search for him. They find his bicycle at the Kitty Police Station and the police told them that it just had an accident,” she recounted.

Hussain said the taxi driver transported Khan to the Georgetown Public Hospital but he was pronounced dead on arrival.

“It is very shocking because we just talk to him and he was coming home. He was happy and laughing with us before he left,” she lamented.

A post-mortem examination is expected to be performed tomorrow.
