Bandits grab millions in cash, electronics in Kitty store hold-up

Although a police station was just around the corner, bandits yesterday robbed the Local Tech Electronics Store on Sandy Babb Street, Kitty of millions in cash and electronics.

The store’s manager, who asked not to be named, said the three men who carried out the attack entered the building on the pretext of being customers. He said the men started to ask the price of an iPhone 5S before pulling out a gun on the store employees.

The manager said the man pointed the gun at a female employee and demanded cash and electronics. He said one of the men tied him up with duct tape and started to slap him while asking for more cash. The manager also said that the men placed a gun in his mouth.

Stabroek News understands that the men packed a quantity of electronics in a black bag before escaping.

The manager said the men also took away the security cameras. This robbery occurred just around the corner from the Kitty Police Station. Residents were not aware that a robbery had taken place until the police eventually turned up.
