Cyclist badly injured after struck by car on High Street

A North/East La Penitence resident was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) Accident and Emergency Unit (A&EU) during the wee hours of yesterday morning after he was hit down by a motor car at D’Urban and High streets, Werk-en-Rust, Georgetown.

The accident occurred around 5.30 am and resulted in 52-year-old Compton Johnson sustaining multiple injuries. These include a broken right foot, a fractured neck and head injuries. Up to late yesterday afternoon, he had a CT scan done and was preparing for surgery although he was in an unconscious state.
