Nismes crash mom of five died of punctured heart

A post-mortem examination performed on the body of Odessa Howard, who died in Sunday’s accident at Nismes, revealed that she sustained broken ribs which punctured her heart.

Howard, 35, who was a mother of five, also broke her neck. Howard’s husband Peter, 55, who is a police officer was riding a motorcycle on the West Bank Demerara when they were struck from behind by a car, the police had said.

When Stabroek News visited the man in the hospital, he was in too much pain to speak. His family said the main injury was to his head and they are hoping for the best.

The woman’s brother Quamie Chandler said his sister was going to the gas station to buy snacks for her children.The police said the driver is assisting with investigations.
