Cocaine found in milk powder at airport

The Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) yesterday afternoon arrested a Guyanese as he attempted to smuggle some 12 kilos of cocaine in among other things Kerrygold milk powder at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport.

According to Head of CANU James Singh the 32-year-old barber from Corentyne was booked to fly on Dynamic Airlines to the USA but during a search of his belongs by the unit’s officers the cocaine was found in the milk powder and the false walls of his suitcase. He is in custody and is expected to be charged shortly.
