Recht door Zee housing development to include schools, improved roads

Minister within the Ministry of Communities Keith Scott identified construction of schools and improved road and drainage networks, among other areas that can be enhanced to ensure a good life for members of the Recht door Zee community in Region Three.

Scott made these observations during a visit there on Tuesday, a statement from the ministry said. He encouraged residents to form self-help groups to assist with beautifying the environment and identified the lack of recreational facilities and renovation of the Westminster Multi-Purpose Building as areas to be addressed.

Recht door Zee Phase II is one of the LIS II project sites built for professionals that saw 206 lots allocated to teachers, nurses and police officers who became homeowners by accessing mortgages from Republic Bank and the Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry.

According to the statement, the minister was accompanied by CEO of the Central Housing and Planning Myrna Pitt, Director of Operations Denise King-Tudor, Senior Community Development Officer Donell Bess-Bascom and Enforcement Officer Lester Kitt.
