Stabroek News was told that at about 11:30 PM last night, public-spirited citizens took a battered and bound Dalrymple to the Turkeyen Police Station. The man, whose hands were tied with rope, was then taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital for medical attention but he succumbed shortly after to his injuries.

Janice, 41, who was a vendor, was stabbed to death while Eusi was wounded when they were attacked.

Police had said that the couple had just arrived at their ‘D’ Field Sophia home when they were attacked by a man, who is suspected to be Dalrymple, who was armed with a dagger.

Stabroek News was told that Eusi had a confrontation with the suspect, after which Janice intervened and as a result she was dealt stab wounds.

Janice was later pronounced dead on arrival to the GPH, while her husband who sustained injuries to his face and hand, was treated and discharged from the hospital.

Neighbours described the assailant as a peaceful and quiet man and they expressed shock that he would commit such a crime. They said he sold juice and peanut punch in the area.
