Seaman accused of being burglar

A seaman was remanded to prison on a break and enter charge on Friday.

Linden Parris, 48, of 29 Public Road, Crane Housing Scheme, appeared before Magistrate Ann McLennan at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court 2.

Parris pleaded not guilty to the charge, which stated that between July 11th and July 14th, in Georgetown, he broke and entered the store of Conrad Meerton and stole a quantity of items amounting to $185,000 in total value.

Prosecutor Neville Jeffers objected to bail, citing the seriousness and prevalence of the crime.

The prosecutor’s objection was upheld and Parris was remanded to prison until July 28th.
