A man found himself before a city magistrate on Monday facing a charge that he assaulted his uncle.
Devon Warren pleaded not guilty to the charge, which states that on June 25, at East Ruimveldt, he unlawfully and maliciously inflicted injuries on Wendell Joseph, causing him actual bodily harm.
The unrepresented man, who told Magistrate Ann McLennan that he works as a miner in the interior, was remanded to prison and is expected to make his next court appearance on Friday.
