‘Pretty Boy’ charged over fatal Tucville shooting

Months after he was freed of a murder charge at the end of a trial by jury, Edward Skeete yesterday found himself accused of another killing.

Skeete, called ‘Pretty Boy,’ 28, of Lot 309 Independence Boulevard, was yesterday charged with the murder of Ryan Clementson, who was shot in Tucville over two weeks ago and succumbed days after in hospital.

Skeete was remanded to prison by Magistrate Ann McLennan after he was arraigned at the George-town Magistrate’s Court 2.

He was not required to plead to the charge, which stated that between July 14th and July 24th, at Georgetown, he murdered Clementson.

Clementson, 27, of Lot 317 Mocha Arcadia, was shot to his thigh in Tucville on July 14th and succumbed to his injuries on the night of July 24th at the Georgetown Public Hospital.

Clementson and Ayodella Solomon, 32, of Tucville, were in the vicinity of the Turning Point Snackette in Tucville when they were shot at. Solomon subsequently fell to the ground and heard several more gunshots. Clementson was found sometime later by the police and was taken to the hospital, where he underwent several surgeries and was admitted in a stable condition until his death.

Skeete had previously faced a murder charge in 2011. He was accused of the murder of Industry businessman Bedi Ramjeiwan, who was shot on April 27th, 2011 after being beaten severely with a helmet. Ramjeiwan had been returning home in his car when he was confronted by two men along Crown Dam, Industry, East Coast Demerara. However, in February this year, Skeete was found not guilty by a 12-member jury.

Skeete is due to make his next court appearance on August 14th.
