Report on cop’s crash for DPP

A police report has been drafted on the accident last Friday where a police constable crashed a police car along the East Bank Demerara and it is expected to be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal advice during this week, according to Traffic Officer of ‘A’ Division Ramesh Ashram.

Police Constable Keshawn Griffith, who is attached to the Madewini Police Outpost, was discharged from the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) on Saturday, less than a day after the accident.

The accident occurred around 10.15pm near the Bounty Farm at Timehri. Griffith sustained injuries to his head and other parts of his body and was rushed to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre before later being transferred to the GPH.

At the time of the accident, Griffith was heading back to the Madewini Police outpost when he lost control of the car he was driving. The car toppled several times before it landed. Griffith was the only occupant at the time and no one else was injured.
