SVN top students earn scholarships to US

Two of the best graduating students of the Saraswati Vidya Niketan (SVN) Secondary School have earned scholarships to pursue tertiary education studies in the United States of America.

According to a press release from the SVN, Rafena Mustapha earned a scholarship to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at Queens College, City University of New York (CUNY) and Nirmala Singh, the other scholarship awardee will complete her Master’s degree in Education Psychology at Hunter College, CUNY.

In 2013, Mustapha graduated as SVN’s best CSEC student earning 15 distinctions. She had since gained 10 subjects at the CAPE level.

Singh, however was awarded her first SVN scholarship as its best graduating student in 2005 to Brooklyn College, CUNY, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. After graduating from Brooklyn College, Singh had been teaching Mathematics and Information Technology at SVN.
