Exmouth recluse found dead in home

The decomposed body of a man of Exmouth, Essequibo Coast was on Saturday morning found in his house after the stench that was emanating from the house started to affect residents.

According to information, the man lived alone and was identified as Roy called Rastaman.

This publication was told that the man has no close relatives living in Essequibo since his mother migrated to America some years ago.

Speaking with Stabroek News, one resident who opted to remain anonymous related that in the early hours of the morning, persons living in the area were being affected by an obnoxious smell and suspected that the man was dead.

“The man was mad and people living here was afraid of him because he used to walk with a cutlass in his hand. Where he use to live ain’ really get people living there and is among plenty bushes,” the resident said.

The resident related that the police were contacted and other residents took the body to the Suddie Mortuary.

However, when contacted by this publication, Commander ‘G ‘ Division Kevin Adonis said that no report of that nature was made to the police on the Essequibo Coast.

The man’s cause of death is unclear and the body is at the Suddie Mortuary where a post-mortem examination is expected to be conducted.
