Three new People Progres-sive Party/Civic (PPP/C) candidates have been sworn in as members of the Regional Democratic Council of Region Six, following the recent resignation of others who indicated that they could not serve.
The three new councillors are Carlos Causeway, Melissa Punch and Lennon Penux. Their appointment as councillors came after Shafiran Bhajan, Bhurpaul Jhagroo and Quincy Henry resigned.
The new councillors were sworn in at a council meeting on Thursday by an acting Clerk of Council, who sat in due to the absence of the Regional Executive Officer Dr. Veerasammy Ramayya.
Subsequently, Regional Chairman David Armogan advised the new members that their fellow councillors were there to offer assistance and guidance.
Meanwhile, a fourth PPP/C councillor Dr. Grayson Halley tendered his resignation to the council after being awarded a scholarship to pursue studies abroad.
