Diplomats injured in Main St crash

Two Russian diplomats were rushed to the Woodlands Hospital yesterday after their vehicle collided with a car at the corner of Main and New Market streets.

The occupants of the car were taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) where they were being treated.

Stabroek News learnt that the vehicle carrying the diplomats and bearing registration number DPL-905 was heading west along New Market Street and when it collided with an oncoming car bearing registration number PSS 5859 on Main Street.

An eyewitness told Stabroek News that the car crashed into the vehicle which was transporting the diplomats, sending it onto a lamppost close-by.

The vehicle in which the diplomats were travelling had minor damage, while the entire front of the car was smashed in.
