Human remains found at Kurupung

A team of police ranks has been dispatched to Kurupung in Region Seven following the discovery of skeletal remains in a mining camp there, Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum said yesterday.

Blanhum told Stabroek News that the remains may be that of a man said to be a St. Lucian national who resided in the camp alone.

He explained that during the morning hours, a man was walking in the vicinity when he observed the remains. A report was made and arrangements were made to have a team of ranks travel to the scene.

The remains have not yet been removed, Blanhum said adding that that will be done after the team arrives and conducts investigations.
