A woman said to be a known drug dealer operating on the Essequibo Coast was yesterday arrested after police found a large quantity of cocaine at her Perseverance home.
Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum confirmed that the woman and five other persons who were in the house at the time of the raid are currently in police custody.
He said the ranks found 3.840 kilogrammes of cocaine along with 36 grammes of cannabis in the house.
A team of ranks from CID headquarters working in collaboration with their counterparts from the Essequibo Coast conducted the operation which targeted the house around 3 pm.
Stabroek News understands that the house is a well-known drug house and that the woman who owns the property is known to the police.
