Taxi driver gets bail on larceny charge

A West Coast Demerara taxi driver has been placed on $65,000 bail after he was accused of stealing a brush cutter and a quantity of work tools.

It is alleged that Kenrick Narine, 36, of Lot 84 Best Road, West Coast Demerara, stole a Stihl brush cutter and a quantity of tools, totaling $230,000, being the property of Bruce Seymour.

Narine pleaded not guilty to the charge.

According to the man’s lawyer, the facts he received are that the articles were left behind in Narine’s car. No further information regarding the matter was provided to the court.

Narine was placed on $65,000 bail by Magistrate Fabayo Azore and the matter has been adjourned to January 7.
