Ptolemy Reid Rehab Centre hosts Diabetic Foot Care Workshop

On December 3rd the Social Work Department of the Ptolemy Reid Rehabilitation Centre (PRRC) observed International Day of Persons with Disabilities by hosting a Foot Care Workshop for the Diabetic patients of its Amputee Clinic, a release from the centre said.

The bulk of amputee patients at the Centre’s clinic comprise adults between the ages of 35 – 75 who suffer from Diabetes.

During the workshop Nutritionist, Audrey Moffat was present to counsel patients on the proper nutrition for the dietary management of the condition, the release said.  Head of the Georgetown Public Hospital’s Diabetic Foot Clinic, Dr. Kumar Sukhraj held a discussion with patients on Diabetes and Foot Care, whilst and Foot Care Specialist, Jackie Williams, offered demonstrations on proper foot care techniques for patients.
