Trial of cops in alleged baton rape adjourned again

The trial of the two police constables accused of assaulting detainee Colwyn Harding was adjourned again yesterday.

The trial of constables Devin Singh and Roselle Tilbury-Douglas was adjourned to December 9th by Magistrate Leron Daly after Prosecutor Nigel Hughes requested another date.

Singh and Tilbury-Douglas were jointly charged with assaulting Harding between November 1st and November 13th, 2013, at the Timehri Police Station. Singh is also separately charged with assaulting Harding.

Harding has alleged that Singh rammed a condom-covered baton up his anus and that he later physically assaulted him.
