Accused bike thief caught red-handed

-prosecutor tells court

A Meadow Brook Gardens man, who police say was caught red-handed stealing a motorbike, was yesterday placed on $150,000 bail after he denied any guilt in the crime.

It was alleged that Colin Harry, 21, of Lot 18 Meadow Brook Gardens, on November 6th at West Ruimveldt, Georgetown, while in the company of others, stole a grey CG 125 motorcycle that is worth $420,000, belonging to Shawn Edo.

Harry, a car wash assistant, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

According to police prosecutor Deniro Jones, on the day in question Harry was seen by neighbours in the West Ruimveldt area, removing the motorcycle from Edo’s yard. However, the prosecutor told the court that the motorcycle was not recovered by the police.

With no objections being made by the prosecutor, Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan set bail at $150,000 bail and adjourned the matter until January 6th, 2016 for statements.
