Airport Santa parade brings holiday cheer

The Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA), Timehri’s 5th annual Santa parade culminated with 3,000 presents being shared to children along Soesdyke on Wednesday evening.

David Patterson, Minister of Public Infrastructure made a surprise visit to lend a hand to Santa and his helpers in giving out gifts which included teddy bears, candies, trucks, board and educational games, a release from the CJIA said yesterday.

Santa hats were also handed out.

The parade kicked off from St. Mary’s Primary, Soesdyke and made its way to CJIA’s ground, Timehri.

A mini concert was also held at CJIA’s ground with some of CJIA’s staff revealing their hidden talents including singing and dramatic poetry.

One bold young lady from the crowd took the stage to sing ‘Not a Blade a Grass’ made popular by Dave Martins.
