As the spaces in the Giftland Mall continue to be taken up, Makin style Boutique, situated on the ground floor, was launched on Thursday with live models showcasing some of the designs that will be available there.
Apart from Sonia Noel’s designs, patrons visiting the boutique will be able to choose from the fashions of local and Caribbean designers. These include Guyanese Deborah Mathias Shonta Noel and Nelsion Nurse; Trinidadians Robert Young, Dominique La Roche and Shaun Griffith Perez; Shanika Burnett of Barbados and Lyn Bristol of St Lucia.
Mathias, whose Rave Designs features a range of handmade jewellery from semi-precious stones as well as seeds, told Stabroek News that she was happy to be associated with the new boutique.
