Miss Guyana Lisa Punch ends Miss World bid in top ten

Miss Guyana Lisa Punch placed in the top ten in the final of the Miss World competition, which concluded yesterday in Sanya, China and saw Miss Spain Mireia Lalaguna winning.

Postings on the Miss World website revealed that Guyana’s representative did exceptionally well during the month long competition.

20151220lisa 1Apart from winning the talent segment with her song “One Last Time”, which guaranteed her a spot in the top 20, Punch also placed fifth in the Multimedia competition and second in Beauty with a Purpose. The Miss World competition comprises five challenge events, the three that Punch placed in along with sports/fitness and top model.

There is also an interview round with the judges for which points are awarded.

The countries in the top 10 were Russia, Philippines, Guyana, Lebanon, Spain, Indonesia, Jamaica, France, South Africa and Australia.

However, the Caribbean still has a lot to cheer about as Miss Jamaica Sanneta Myrie was selected for the final five and placed fifth overall at the end of the competition. Lebanon placed fourth while Indonesia and Russia were adjudged second and first runners up respectively.
