Linden contractor granted bail on break and enter charge

A 41-year-old man can now spend Christmas with his family as he was released on bail after facing breaking and entering charges.

Paul Marciano of 12 Water Lily Street, Linden was accused of breaking and entering the home of Charlene Knox between December 4 and 5 and stealing a Samsung laptop, valued $371,000 and a mobile phone valued of $90,000.

Marciano, a carpenter, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Prosecutor Deniro Jones stated that he had no objection to bail as was requested by Marciano. He further added that on the night in question Knox had secured her home and later discovered that the items were missing.

Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan adjourned the matter to January 19, 2016 and placed the defendant on $30,000 bail.
