Jamaica businessman sentenced to life for killing pregnant 14-y-o schoolgirl

(Jamaica Gleaner) Businessman Cornelius Robinson has been sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of 14-year-old Westmoreland schoolgirl Sontoya Campbell.

In handing down sentence, Justice Martin Gayle yesterday ordered that he must serve 25 years before he becomes eligible for parole.

Earlier this month, Campbell’s decomposing body was found in a garbage bag at the Cabarita River bridge in Westmoreland.

The police say a cord was tied around her neck and her feet bound.

A post mortem reportedly revealed that the 14-year-old schoolgirl died as a result of strangulation.
