T&T PM: 57,000 jobs created in 5 years

(Trinidad Express) Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar on Monday night praised her Government for achieving economic growth in successive years in government and bashed the PNM for having no plans or policies to take the country forward in the next five years.

“We have created more than 57,000 new jobs in T&T,” she said during the party’s Monday Night Forum, adding that unemployment is down to its lowest rate at three per cent.

“This means that about 94 per cent of our population is gainfully employed.”

When one heckler shouted out that the health system was understaffed, the PM laughed and told him that he too could be trained at the medical school in T&T.

Among the list of accomplishments listed out by the PM was the refurbishment of 105 health centres and approximately 100 new schools in the past five years.
