Bajan man charged with three murders

(Barbados Nation) Michael Kenan Blackett appeared before Magistrate Graveney Bannister yesterday in the District “A” Magistrates Court charged in connection with three murders and two counts of wounding with intent.

The 21-year-old unemployed man of Flat Rock St George was not required to plead to the five indictable matters and was remanded until November 23 where he is expected to appear in Criminal Court No. 2 before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant.

The murders are those of Charles Ellis who was shot on May 5 at Nelson Street; Kemal Leacock who was shot on August 12 at Bottom Close Wildey and Ashem Telemaque who was shot on August 4 at Forde’s Road.

Blackett is also accused of shooting and wounding one man at Parkinson Field, Pinelands, St Michael, on January 22 and another at Fordes Road on August 4.
