Angry T&T patron kills nightclub bouncer

A 31-year-old security guard was knocked down and killed when an angry nightclub patron ploughed into him, a colleague and two police officers yesterday morning.

The incident took place at around 4 am yesterday while Keron Khan, of Mc Bean Village, Couva, was standing outside the Amnesia nightclub on the Caroni Savannah Road, Charlieville.

The officers, PC Rakesh Ramcharitar and PC Darren Peack, are in serious condition at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex.

Khan died while being treated, while the other bouncer, who was not identified, was treated and discharged, police said.

Police said the suspect attempted to run over other police officers but was shot in the knee and forced to stop. He was taken to the hospital and is warded in a stable condition.

Khan’s wife and mother of his three children, Salisha, said the festive season was already bad for her with the hospitalisation of her 16-year-old son, and the death of her husband meant there would be no Christmas for the family.

She said she last she spoke to her husband on Friday night just before he left for work when they discussed getting their house cleaned and ready for Christmas. Hours later, police officers visited their home with the news that her husband had been killed.

Central Division Police are continuing investigations.
