Weather outlook for next four days

(GINA) Today mainly cloudy skies will continue throughout coastal and near inland areas, with occasional light to moderate, and at times, heavy showers, between Regions 2 to Northern 6, during the morning, becoming fair, but cloudy in the afternoon. Other locations across Guyana will see mostly fair and sunny skies, with a few cloudy spells.

The rainfall is expected between 10.0 mm. and 30.0 mm. (0.39-1.18 in.), with highest in Regions 2, 5 and Northern 6.

The high tide will be at 18:29 hrs. (6:29 pm), at a maximum height of 2.77 metres (9.08 ft.), which is above normal.
On Saturday, cloudy spells can be expected, with scattered to occasional showers in Regions 2 to 5; other areas along the coast will experience light to moderate showers during the morning into early afternoon. The remainder of Guyana will see fair to occasionally cloudy skies and possible passing showers.

The rainfall is expected to be between 15.0 mm. to 25.0 mm. (0.59-0.98 in.) in Regions 1 to 4, with the highest in Region 3, and between 0.0 mm. to 15.0 mm. (0.59 in.) in other areas.

On Sunday, a few cloudy spells can be expected during the morning period with a few showers. Apart from this, mainly fair and sunny skies can be expected.

On Monday, mainly fair and sunny skies can be expected. No significant rainfall is anticipated.

Tuesday, cloudy to overcast conditions can be expected, with moderate to heavy showers and scattered thundershowers throughout coastal and near inland areas. Some areas are likely to experience high intensity rainfall. Other locations will see mostly cloudy skies with scattered showers.

The rainfall is expected to be between 20.0 mm. and 60.0 mm. (0.78-2.36 in.) in Regions 2 to 5, with the highest in Regions 4 and 5, and between 0.0 mm. and 15.0 mm. (0.59 in.) in other areas.

Residents especially those in low lying areas are asked to take precautionary measures to protect themselves, family and livestock and crops.
