Businessman Kanand Ojha, who has also been identified as a suspect in the crime, remains on the run.

Luthers, a resident of Lot ZZ D’Urban Street, Wortmanville, was allegedly shot and killed by Forde in the wee hours of the morning at Quamina and Carmichael streets where he usually carried out his trade.

The police, in a press release, had stated that around 2.35am on July 22nd, Luthers was confronted by two men at Quamina and Carmichael streets and one of them shot him to the chest and escaped. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the George-town Public Hospital.

There are conflicting reports about what led to the shooting.

It has been suggested that one of the men engaged Luthers but demanded that his money be returned to him as he wasn’t pleased.

However, it has also been reported that Luthers was shot due to him being mistakenly identified.

The altercation was caught on video, which police used to identify Forde and Ojha.
