Biker critical after Eccles accident

A 60-year-old man is now hospitalised in a critical condition in a city hospital after he was struck off his motorcycle at Eccles Public Road, East Bank Demerara (EBD) on Tuesday.

Injured is Chandrabhan Singh of Lot 53 Coghlan Dam, West Bank Demerara (WBD). He sustained head injuries and is currently in the High Dependency Unit (HDU) of the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH).

Stabroek News was told that Singh was just about to park his motorcycle just after mid-day on Tuesday at a corner on Eccles Public Road, to await his daughter who was in a nearby church, when the car appeared and hit him from the back. The impact of the collision pitched the rider some distance.

He was rushed to the GPH by the driver of the car who was taken into police custody by ranks of the Providence Police Station.
