Aubrey Nacasi Bobb, 24, of Lot 52 Sandy Babb Street, Kitty, was accused of robbing Demetri Gerard on July 14 at Ruimveldt Public Road, while being in the company of another and armed with a gun. It was reported that during the robbery, Bobb took $112,000 worth of items, including a Blackberry Z10 cell phone, a Republic Bank ATM card, $32,000, an NIS card, three discount cards, three United States identification cards and a national ID card.

The accused, who was represented by attorney Paul Fung-A-Fat, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The prosecution told the court that Bobb had been positively identified by the virtual complainant, who Fung-A-Fat indicated has known his client for some 24 years.

Fung-A-Fat made an application for reasonable bail to be granted to his client, noting that although the man had been charged before for fighting, he has never been convicted. Objections were however raised by Prosecutor Neville Jeffers, who cited the seriousness of the crime, its prevalence and the fact that a gun was used in the process.

Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan denied the defence’s bail application and ordered Bobb remanded to prison until his next court hearing on November 2.
