Detectives in ‘B’ Division are hunting for a gang of three bandits who robbed and injured Daljit Balraj, 64 years and his wife Bidiawatee Balraj, 59 years, of Aldephi, Canje Village, Berbice today.
A police release said that the gang took of a quantity of gold jewellery and cash. The attack occurred about 0300h. today.
Police investigations revealed that Daljit Balraj was awakened by a noise in his yard and he went out onto his verandah to investigate when he was confronted by the men who tied up himself and wife, ransacked the house and carried away the valuables but not before hitting them about their face.
The victims were treated at the New Amsterdam Hospital and sent away. Investigations are in progress.
