Ranks of the Bartica Police Station whilst investigating reports of indecent assault and the discharging of a loaded firearm which occurred at Puruni Landing, Upper Mazaruni River on October 27, 2015, carried out a search on a house at Puruni Landing, at about 1330h. yesterday and found an unlicensed .38 revolver along with three live. 38 rounds and three .38 spent shells.
A release from the police yesterday said that the suspect who is an interdicted police rank was detained and is assisting the police with their investigations. A ballistic test of the firearm is being carried out.
